NetZero field trials in Cameroon showing consistent results

Field trials — NetZero Cameroon (2022)

In 2022, NetZero conducted controlled agronomic trials in Cameroon, comparing four treatments on maize plots: biochar + fertiliser, biochar only, fertiliser only, and a control (no treatment).

Results showed consistent yield improvements across multiple maize varieties, with the biochar + fertiliser treatment performing best. The biochar-only treatment outperformed the control on all plots, demonstrating biochar's intrinsic value even without additional fertilisers.

These results are consistent with the meta-analysis by Jeffery et al. (2017), which recorded an average 25% yield increase in tropical regions under biochar application.
